D2D Direct to Designer: Nathalie Simon of nathou custom vintage jewelry

DS: How would you describe your personal style?

NS: Ecclectic-chic.  I like to mix up classic, timeless pieces with something ultra chic or contemporary. 

DS: What is your heritage?

NS: I am a first-generation American.   My parents are Haitian and always instilled a strong sense of our Haitian culture.  I had the privilege of living there during my formative years and my experiences there serve as some of my best childhood memories.

DS: Do you have a favorite piece? If so what is it?

NS: I love them all, as they are all unique.  But, if I had to pick a piece, it would have to be the Dame cuffs made of antique French hand cut steel shoe clips.  I often wonder who first owned them, as they make you feel so regal.
 
DS: What are you inspired by?

NS: Travel, art, history, and literature- how can I not be inspired by these being from New Orleans?  I often name my jewelry pieces after some character, writer, or figure that has influenced me throughout the years.
